Connecting to Shopify
Connecting to your Shopify allows real-time data sync between Stitchex and your Shopify retail stores for your products. Your Stitchex and Shopify retail "available to sell inventory" will be linked so that when they are received from your supplier they will be reflected in Shopify. Before the links can be setup, you will need to enable the "Shopify Connection".
You can manage the connection between your Stitchex account and your Shopify store from the Shopify integration settings page within Stitchex under Settings>Integration.
- Make sure you are signed in to your organisation owner account.
- Navigate to Settings>Integrations page.
- Select Shopify integrations.
- Enter your Shopify store URL (starting with https:// or http://)
- Click the "Connect to Shopify..." button.
- You will be redirected to Shopify pages - follow their on-screen instructions.
If you have more than one retail store that you will sync to, click "Add another store" on the tabs at the top (Figure 1). This will allow you to customize setup profiles for each store if they are different (e.g. product delivery from different warehouses, different order fulfillment strategies, etc.).
There are many settings within the Shopify Configuration screen. These play a significant part in how your orders and inventory will be handled. Below (Figure 2) find the full view of the settings available directly below the "Connect/Disconnect" section (Figure 1). We will discuss each of these configuration settings individually and the impacts they could have on your business processes.
For the Order fulfillment field, you can specify whether you want this done "In Shopify or if you want this done "In Stitchex:
Select "In Shopify" if you want Stitchex to mark the item as "shipped" in Shopify as soon as an order is received. Stitchex will not take any further action when it receives the order confirmation. Stitchex will assume the invoice is paid and the item is shipped.
Select Stitchex if you want Sales Orders and Customers (including new) that are created in Shopify automatically created for you in Stitchex. Stitchex will display the order on your Sales Order screen with a green icon next to it so that you will know it is a Shopify order.
In addition, as soon as the order comes in, Stitchex will create an invoice and payment (marked as paid). Order Totals are always taken from Shopify.
Stitchex will automatically reduce your available quantity as soon as your order is received. However, Stitchex waits for you to submit the shipping (Pick and Pack) within Stitchex before assuming the order is fulfilled and reducing the quantity in stock.
Quantity to sync to Shopify
This is the quantity level to sync to Shopify. Usually you will want to leave this as the default setting, "Available to sell from stock" (described in Manage Shopify Inventories). If you want to allow online customers to purchase units of inventory destined for your wholesale orders, you can change this setting to "In stock" which will sync your basic in-stock inventory levels to Shopify. You should bear in mind that you may have a shortfall when you come to ship your wholesale orders, and it will then be up to you to cancel any "oversold" units from those wholesale orders before shipping.
Shopify pricing channel
If you use Stitchex to quickly upload a new product to Shopify, prices for the product will be taken from this channel. This settings is not involved in the automatic update of inventory levels. For additional information see Stitchex Knowledge Article on Channels.
Select which Warehouse you want products delivered from to your retail store. For additional information see Stitchex documentation on Multiple Warehouses.
Specify which Shopify location is associated with this Retail Store configuration.
Color and Size
Specify the name of your Color and Size fields within your Shopify system. These are the fields that Stitchex will update and link with your SKUs and variations.
Now that your Stitchex account is connected to your Shopify store, you can proceed to link your individual products so that Stitchex knows how to keep ATS inventory levels in sync.
If this is your first time syncing with Stitchex, you can perform bulk uploads of your products into Stitchex and then manually update the links. Or, if you do not have products, we recommend creating the products in Stitchex and pushing to your Shopify store.
